americanrockstar has been hosting Rock the Halls since 2002 (skipping only three years). The annual Christmas tradition debuted at the Odeon Concert Club, where it was held twice. After the Odeon closed, the show found a new home at Cleveland’s famous Peabody’s. After several years there, we’re excited to announce that on December 17, 2011 Rock the Halls 7 will take place at a new venue: the legendary Outpost Concert Club in Kent!
This year, our co-headliners will be BONK, who will be releasing their new, self-titled CD (produced by americanrockstar’s Dallas Riffle) at the show. We will be announcing three more bands to complete the lineup soon.
In addition, we are planning to revive our charity raffle, which will benefit the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank. In exchange for a prize donation, local businesses will be allowed to set up a small promotional table at the venue the night of the show.
Those attending the show will receive one raffle ticket for each can of food donated. Attendees may also purchase tickets for $1 each. Raffle tickets will then be placed in the hopper(s) for any prizes the holder is interested in. The show’s emcee will draw and announce winners between bands during the show.
Local businesses are encouraged to participate! Please email contact us at americanrockstar1 [at] gmail.com or contact us through http://www.facebook.com/americanrockstar if you are interested.

Dallas & Coler will play a short acoustic set, warming up for The Ravenna Arsenal and A Cadence Delicate, at the Outpost in Kent on Saturday, February 5th.
americanrockstar’s own Dallas Riffle is currently in the process of recording and mixing the forthcoming full-length album from Kent’s BONK, their first release in four years.
BONK and americanrockstar both feature guitarist Coler Riffle, and the two bands have played many shows together over the last ten years. Dallas has also designed the cover art for the band’s two previous releases.
“I’m really blown away by the new songs.” said Dallas of the new effort. “It’s definitely a new direction for them, but I believe their fans will absolutely love it. I’m having a blast working on the album… I’m honored that they asked me to do it!”
Look for the new release in 2011. For more on BONK, visit their official MySpace profile.
