Coler Riffle became one of the founding members of americanrockstar after serving as guitarist for Halo for Adam. He left ARS in 2003 and joined Kent-area prog-post-hardcore-experimental heroes Bonk. When Bonk went on hiatus not long after after releasing their 2007 effort “Midnight Poetry,” Coler was called back into the ARS family in early 2008, where he reclaimed his position, now as second lead guitarist. His very unique, self-taught guitar style was part of ARS’s original signature sound and was a welcome return to form for the band’s music. Now featuring three guitars, ARS’ live presence truly exploded into “wall of sound” territory.
Coler still plays with Bonk, who are working on their third studio album. He also co-founded the band “Two Hundred Black Bear on the Horizon” with several other area musicians, including dad Clell “Dr. Claw” Riffle. He is currently working on a solo-acoustic/electronic effort as well.
Coler lives in the Kent area and enjoys fishing and making custom body jewelry for his company uDiverse. He is also an avid fisherman, sometimes seen casting a line with Scott.
